Brand Identity and Design Rollout for an Irish Construction Firm
A bold and structured identity for a modern construction firm
DesignChief partnered with Buto Developments to create a full brand identity system from the ground up. From strategy to execution, the work encompassed logo design, brand language, stationery, fleet and site branding, marketing materials and internal communications. The result is a confident and distinctive brand that reflects Buto’s reputation for precision and excellence in the construction sector.
A Strong Foundation for a New Brand
DesignChief was commissioned to define and design a comprehensive visual identity for Buto Developments. At the core of the brand is a custom wordmark, paired with a unique directional glyph that subtly reinforces Buto’s philosophy of progress, structure, and upward movement.
The clean, architectural feel of the logotype was developed to sit confidently across a range of media—on signage, digital platforms, uniforms, and vehicles. A distinct colour palette of slate grey and acid green provides contrast and clarity, delivering high visual impact both on-site and in corporate communications.
Brand System and Application
Beyond the logo, DesignChief developed a robust visual language. The system included the creation of brand collateral, such as stationery, business cards, and presentation folders. These elements maintain consistency while allowing flexibility for various departments and communications needs.
On-site visibility was a key part of the rollout, with high-impact livery for fleet vehicles, custom-branded workwear for site staff, and signage solutions to ensure brand recognition across every Buto development site. Messaging was also integrated into the design process, with tone of voice guidelines supporting brand cohesion.
Design as a Business Asset
This identity system was built to support Buto’s rapid growth while reflecting its commitment to quality and transparency. DesignChief continued to support the brand over time, producing a wide range of print and digital materials, and adapting the system as needed without compromising consistency.
